FCM
Warning: Way TMI (Too Much Information)

I've got gargantuan quantities of fertile CM today - I haven't seen FCM like this since I was a youngster! I bet this stuff could stretch 10 inches. It's flabbergasting actually. (Ready to barf yet?) If only J's little swimmers could make use of it and, like, get to where they're needed. But a sign reading "Dead End" is likely posted somewhere on the way to the fundus.

I wonder if my recent surgery to remove 5 fibroids, both fallopian tubes, a couple of endometriomas on my ovaries, and totally rampant endometriosis has anything at all to do with it?

I know that endometriosis and hydrosalpinx both emit cytokines and TNF-a (tumor necrosis factor alpha), but do those function in creating FCM? What DOES create FCM? I haven't an idea.

If any of you sistahs out there has a clue, please pipe in.

Too.many.acronyms! AAAAAAAA! Seriously, is it too early to have some fun with the egg whites, even if it won't do you any good in the baby-making way?

Blogger Millie said ... (6:19 PM) :

I'm with Donna. I think it's time to have some fun. The best thing about all this is you know know when you're trying and can (maybe) let the rest go.

Blogger linda said ... (6:41 PM) :

Oh ladies, I **wish** I could be doing the horizontal mambo...alas...I still have THREE MORE WEEKS until we can have such fun.

Then we'll be close to our FET and you JUST KNOW that the not-so-good doctor will be telling us to abstain (again) until either a negative beta -or- until we see a heartbeat.

It's going to be a long, and sexless, summer.

Blogger Pamplemousse said ... (2:40 AM) :

Och well, full sex is overrated but you could still have a little fun!!

I don't know anything about the big words you were using but I am guessing that a good clean out in there did you some good. All bodes well for the upcoming FET. It will be here before you know it.

Blogger Fertile Soul said ... (8:00 PM) :

yeah, you lost me at FCM ... cervical mucus ... fun cervical mucus? funny cervical mucus? effin cervical mucus. Those are my guesses. I'm so helpful. But dont you just hate so much evidence of ovulation and nuttin to do with it?

What's TMI?

Blogger linda said ... (8:27 PM) :

FCM = fertile cervical mucus. I didn't want to write it out lest I really frighten new readers off! LOL!

TMI = Too Much Information

Yes, it does totally suck that my body is telling me that it's geared up for procreation and there is not a damned thing I can do with it.

It's so unfair.

Blogger Thalia said ... (2:14 PM) :

I'll go and do some research, but the main contributor to FCM is estrogen, not sure how that would be affected by your various surgeries but I'm sure there are some feedback loops there somewhere.

Blogger Fertile Soul said ... (7:06 PM) :

ooooh, thanks for the clarification. From one ovulating woman to another, TAG! (it stands for "you're it" ;)

Blogger Just another Jenny said ... (7:34 AM) :

I'm up for a sexless summer too - please - if I thought we could get pg the old way I wouldn't be doing all this crap!

Blogger Coloratura said ... (1:12 PM) :

I vote for fun as well. We won't be having any this week, what with all these tubes and fanny packs... have a couple rounds on us!

Hope you are doing okay...

if it makes you feel better, i know a 44 year old woman with fibroids who is very overweight who just conceived, after stopping clomid and all the other stuff. good luck to you!
