CD4: WTF?

Day two of femara.

I got a call from my clinic with my cycle day 3 blood work.

So, as a preamble, just keep in mind that December 29, 2009, by FSH was a decent 9.7.

Yesterday, these were my values:

FSH 32.8
E2 46.39
bHCG 0
LH 7

FSH was THIRTY TWO POINT EIGHT?

You have got to be fucking kidding me!? WTF?

I wrote to Dr. Italian and his reply:

I think this maybe somewhat falsely elevated from recent cycling.
I would move ahead rather than lose a month.

SOMEWHAT falsely elevated? A 300% increase is SOMEWHAT ELEVATED?

Have any of you ladies heard of FSH values going through the roof when cycling back to back? This is the first I've seen it and I am totally freaked out.

What is really weird is that I definitely had antrals...maybe 5 or 6 of them in all. So potentially a better "looking" cycle this month, but the FSH readings make absolutely no sense.

I am baffled.

I start stims tomorrow. Do I dare waste potentially $8K worth of drugs?

Do I wait a month and risk getting another cyst?

I'm screwed no matter what I do.

For what it's worth, there are a ton of stories out there of women becoming pregnant during a cycle in which their FSH was through the roof (something I take great comfort in)...If you google high FSH success stories, you'll find some. FSH isn't everything they make it out to be, I'm learning and is affected by a lot of things, and doesn't necessarily mean you won't respond well to meds this cycle...however, if you start stimming and you don't like how it's going, you can always cancel, right? I would go for it myself as everything else seems to look so good.
Love,
Maddy

Thank you for the encouragement Maddy....I so need that right now. I feel like my ovaries just up and died and menopause has sunk in. You're right. I can cancel at any point and will if it looks dismal. I'm grateful I have people like to talk sense back into me. :)

Love,
Linda

There are just so many factors! I guess I'd probably go ahead if I were you. But then my FSH has always been over 30! Of course I'm using donor eggs, NOT that that has made any difference.

But if your doc thinks it is ok, I'd proceed. After research - $8K is a lot to dump on a bad cycle! I wish it were all free and everyone got pg at the end...

Sorry I'm absolutely no help at all! But I'm rooting for you, whatever you decide.

Time to hang it up? No way girl...dont let the numbers tell youwhat to do. I am 53 years old and havent had a period in 2 years but when I get sonos done I can see a few tiny eggs in there so I will not stop until I am dead!! So why should you!!!
